PhotoPicky (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.
Photos: When you use the “Analyze with AI” feature, selected photos are uploaded to our secure servers for AI-based quality analysis. Photos are processed temporarily and are automatically deleted from our servers within 30 days.
Face Data: As part of the photo analysis process, our servers may detect and analyze faces within your uploaded photos. This processing is performed entirely on our servers — no face detection or recognition occurs on your device. The face data we derive includes: (a) face location coordinates (bounding boxes) within each photo, and (b) mathematical face embeddings used solely for grouping photos by the same person (“face clustering”). This face data is used exclusively for two purposes: evaluating photo quality (e.g., detecting closed eyes, smile quality, and obstructed faces) and grouping your photos by person so you can filter results. Face data is never used for biometric identification of individuals, user profiling, or advertising. Face data is never shared with any third parties. All face data is stored on our servers (Amazon Web Services, US region) and is associated only with your photo folder — not linked to any real-world identity. Face data is automatically deleted within 30 days of the original photo upload. Deleting a folder removes it from the app immediately; the underlying data on our servers is purged automatically within the same 30-day retention window.
Account Information: If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. This information is used solely to identify your account and enable data sync across devices.
Usage Data: We may collect anonymous usage data such as app feature usage and crash reports to improve the app experience. This data does not personally identify you.
Device Token: If you enable push notifications, we receive a device token from Apple to send you notification when your photo analysis is complete. We do not use this token for marketing purposes.
Your photos are uploaded via HTTPS to Amazon Web Services (AWS) servers. All data transmission is encrypted. Uploaded photos are stored temporarily and deleted automatically within 30 days of upload.
Face data derived from your photos (face coordinates and clustering embeddings) is stored on our servers alongside your photo folder data. Face data is retained for no longer than 30 days from the original photo upload and is then automatically purged from our servers.
Your account data (settings, favorites) is stored on our servers and associated with your Google account. You can delete your account data at any time by signing out.

We do not sell, share, or provide your personal data — including face data — to any third parties for advertising, marketing, or any other purposes. Face data is processed and stored exclusively on our own infrastructure and is never disclosed to third parties.
PhotoPicky is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
